Hotspur Helium welcomes Lord George Percy as Chair of the Board of Directors

Lord George Percy has joined Hotspur Helium as Chair of the Company’s Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of resources sector experience, with specific expertise in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

George chairs the Percy family office, Northumberland Estates. Active in northern England for over 900 years, Northumberland Estates operates a diverse global portfolio including residential and commercial property, renewable energy, and 100,000 acres of farming and forestry.

George has worked on development projects throughout the world, and in 2010 founded a greenfield geothermal exploration company alongside Algy Cluff, and leading academics from the University of Glasgow and Newcastle University. He led projects in the UK and East Africa, including the acquisition and delineation of a highly prospective 1,250 km² exploration licence in Ethiopia. George was instrumental in pioneering the mixed-fleet drilling approach for geothermal in Africa through ownership of a 1,000 hp rig package and importing it into the region.
