Meta description: Hotspur Helium secures the Nsama Exploration Licence in Northern Zambia, expanding its primary helium portfolio in the Mweru Wantipa Rift – one of Africa’s most prospective regions for natural helium resources.

Hotspur Helium has secured exclusive rights for the Nsama Exploration Licence, a 1,600 km² concession located in Zambia’s Northern Province. This marks the Company’s formal entry into the Zambian helium sector and opens a new frontier for primary helium exploration in one of Africa’s most underexplored and prospective rift basins.

The Nsama Licence sits within the Mweru-Wantipa Rift, a region characterised by deep crustal structures and Paleoproterozoic basement rocks known to host helium bearing systems. This setting offers significant upside potential and aligns with Hotspur Helium’s proven exploration model focused on discovering large, untapped sources of helium disassociated from hydrocarbons.

Assisted by the Company’s recent Investment Licence from the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and operating under Zambia’s transparent regulatory regime, Hotspur Helium is well positioned to implement its phased exploration programme. The Company’s approach includes modern geophysical methods, geochemical surveys, and targeted drilling to evaluate commercial-grade helium accumulations.

The addition of the Nsama Licence strengthens Hotspur Helium’s growing portfolio of global helium assets and reinforces its commitment to securing long-term, sustainable helium supply outside of traditional hydrocarbon basins.

Hotspur Helium looks forward to advancing exploration activities in close coordination with national and local stakeholders, and to playing a leading role in developing Zambia’s helium resources as part of the broader global push for critical mineral security.
